You know we live in a sick world when people seriously want praise for not hating queers. Hurray!

So, you call 'em queers instead of "gay people".

I like that, I prefer to call myself queer, largely because it sounds more offensive and militant. "Gay" sounds too friendly.

But maybe the connotations are more neutral where you are from.

I feel like the people who do that are queerphobes (I made up a word) themselves, because they're specifically pointing out the people who they consider "weird" and saying that they like them.

If they really support queer people, then why are they pointing them out from the rest, you know?

Yeah, I don't deny that there is people who hopebe praising for telling that kind of things. But there is people who think that talking about innocence and rights that specific shorts of persons have can reduce the discrimination and despising. Maybe, (surele for me), telling "I have notihing agaist queers" is a selfish sentence, above all it the context no requires your personal opinion, but each one has different viewpoint of others, some persons can think this kind of sentences can be help and no knows it wounds some persons with that discriminated aspect. Or must we discriminate people who fights against discrimination?
Adding, I can't understand at all what is being (for examples) paralytic or black, but ii understand what is being discriminated, cause i have some other often discriminated aspects, and anyway, whatever support should being thanked, at least I do.
Adding, some kinds of aspects are much infrequent compared with people isnt like theirs, like intersexuality; (xplaining) if we (or they) want can telling their born condition without bad-lookings it will be more easy if there is people around "him"/"her" who defend them cause there is a lot of people they'll do things against (like school bullying), and changing the classic teached idea of guy/girl will need other poeple fight for fulfil it... considering our countries tolerate folk class opinion, well, no fighting no results.
I hope no wounds no discriminator ones of you.

OMG his face in the last panel XD I just wanna link this comic everytime I see entitled jerks like this. Hooray, you've met the basic standard for being a decent human being! No, everyone should NOT treat you like you made some great accomplishment.
I really can't stand when people use it as ammunition in an argument either. "I have nothing against queers BUT.." Like because they SAY they don't hate gay people, they can now say something really offensive and it's magically negated because you can't be homophobic unless you're actively putting on a hockey mask and taking a baseball bat to the face of some dude for liking dudes.
"I have nothing against queers but I wish they wouldn't rub it in my face all the time with those stupid pride parades." "I have nothing against queers but marriage is a sacred institution between one man and one woman!!" That's homophobia and you can't avoid being called out just because you tack on "BTW I don't hate you".
And it's sad that they always say "I have nothing against queers" rather than "I support LGBT rights" or anything. They're literally saying "I don't hate you" instead of "I like you" and expecting to get a cookie for it, as if hating you is natural and they're soooo special for thinking outside the box.
</tl;dr rambling>
Yeah in summary... love the comic! You actually deserve a fanfare and magically appearing cookies for this! XD

These aren't homophobic opinions, being a homosexual just means you're a homosexual. Not wanting people prancing around half naked celebrating being proud of something so banal makes you sane.

Believing that marriage means a man and a woman is just wanting to uphold a cultural tradition that celebrated /LIFE/, a gay couple can never have children so there is NEVER a reason to marry them. Ever.

I'm flat out disgusted at the entitlement gay people have, that more than anything is what makes me tend to dislike a lot of them - otherwise I could care less about their sexuality. Your fucking comments equating wanting to defend cultural institutions and having morals with automatic bigotry are unbelievable, but not surprising.

And no, I'm not a Christian nor am I using religion in this argument.

No you're just being a dick and I have no intention to argue with someone I have no possibility of convincing.
I have nothing against you, I just wish you'd not draw attention to yourself because GAWD.. you're making people read your comments! Comments celebrate /deviancy/ and a homophobe is the opposite of deviant so there's no reason to listen to them. Ever. And because I don't like you, you should thusly go hide under a rock so I can live my entire life without having to look at you, and anything else would be AN INFRINGEMENT OF MY RIGHTS!! Why do you have to parade yourself around like this? There could be children watching! But, y'know, I said I have nothing against you, so I'm being perfectly polite :)
Anyway marriage was never "traditionally" anything we associate with it today. It was all about making babies and social status and not even a hint of love. So traditional marriage? Better go buy five wives from your neighbours and start making heirs. :XD:

:iconkacen:

Yeah it was about making babies. Precisely. That's a sacred thing. Gay people getting married doesn't give anything to the community - you're entirely correct, it has nothing to do with love. Ergo you are in fact confirming that gay marriages - and even marriage based on the concept of love - makes no sense.

It IS a redefinition of the word.

Okay so you believe in making babies as being some magical special calling, despite it being the most basic act in existance that even a single celled organism can accomplish. Why are you not HORRIBLY DISGUSTED with every single straight person who believes in marriage for love? Why are you not demanding we make it illegal to marry ONE man and ONE woman, and instead we should bring back mandatory polygamy where the wives are essentially slaves? Why don't you campaign to execute all the asexuals in the world, since they'd be ABOMINATIONS AGAINST NATURE?
Or, better yet, why are you not rooting for scientists to make a breakthrough in cloning so that we can remove that whole pesky requirement for sex at all? That way one person could make millions of babies, omg!!
And you're not a christian apparantly, so what would you have against that? Can't say they're trying to play god~!

Okay if you want a mature argument I'll give you it.

"Okay so you believe in making babies as being some magical special calling, despite it being the most basic act in existance that even a single celled organism can accomplish."
You can bitch about semantics all you want, but it's a pretty uh important aspect to life so it makes SENSE cultures would celebrate it?

"Why are you not HORRIBLY DISGUSTED with every single straight person who believes in marriage for love?"

Actually I feel the same way - marriage was already re-defined by the time gay marriage was even suggested. No one realizes all the benefits given to married couples were privileges because they expected you to rear a child; it was considered sacred. Saying not allowing gays to marry is homophobic is like saying not allowing men to get maternity leave is "sexist"...it's exactly the same logic.

"Why are you not demanding we make it illegal to marry ONE man and ONE woman, and instead we should bring back mandatory polygamy where the wives are essentially slaves?"
Women were never slaves to men, and actually I think traditional gender roles are healthy for society because they enforce a purpose and a social conscious. I don't believe women were ever oppressed. But so did men, so I'm not singling out anyone here.

'Polygamy" is completely irrelevant.

"Why don't you campaign to execute all the asexuals in the world, since they'd be ABOMINATIONS AGAINST NATURE?"

Dude...what the fuck? How insecure are you? I didn't even argue that gays should be persecuted - I just said I wasn't in favor of gay marriage because it didn't make sense.

"And you're not a christian apparantly, so what would you have against that? Can't say they're trying to play god~!"

Because I have a social consciousness and real, actual values. Your entire argument is based on individualistic hedonism. Equality for the sake of itself is your argument, and anyone who fucking disagrees is a bigot or whatever. I guess no one can have real values anymore.

I actually do see your point. If same-sex couples are not raising children, and the benefits of marriage are given in order to help couples raise children, then it doesn't really make sense to give same-sex couples those benefits. However, this argument is based upon the idea that same-sex couples are not raising children, which simply isn't true. According to the 1990 census, roughly 22% of lesbian couples and 5% of gay males had children in their households. The estimates from 2008 have risen to 26.5 and 13.9 percent respectively. Even without the legalization of gay marriage, the number of same-sex couples rearing children is on the rise. It stands to reason that if they were to be given the same benefits as straight couples, even more gay people would want to have kids.

Source: [link])

In conclusion, you didn't even bother to Google this shit before deciding that you were the only one left on earth with "a social consciousness and real, actual values".

Screw you,
Lia

Um.. wtf? Where was 'semantics' in that? Do you even know the definition of semantics?
And to be frank your argument looks even more fucked up than it sounded in the first place, and not even internally consistant.
I ask again, why are you not going somewhere else and yelling at people for marrying for love or not being a polygamist? Because those are things that are also "against traditional marriage". I'd say you can't just pick and choose and leave out the part about polygamy, that'd be redefining terms!
And by the logic of making babies being the meaning of all life, that would make asexuals either liars or abominations against nature. I'm just pointing out how you're talking nonsense. Sex is a function of living beings but it isn't some grand dramatic thing that we all MUST do. It'd make more sense to say that hedonistic gluttony is the meaning of life, since we all die if we don't eat.
Maternity leave is indeed for women but we already have paternity leave, so that's an idiotic argument. Woo, look how we had the same thing available to both genders, but slightly different so it fits what they rightfully deserve!
Woooow.. so you deny sexism ever existed in history? Do you also deny slavery and the holocaust?
Social conciousness and real values = not caring about the emotions of a large portion of the population? Well done. Amazing. Wonderful. That'll get you a lot of friends.
Where did these "real values" even COME from, then? Who exactly decided that babymaking is the purpose of life, gays are encroaching on something sacred, sexism doesn't exist, women should be subservient anyway, etc etc. Cos you're saying the exact same stuff as fanatical christians but trying to claim that it's common sense or something...
Nope, can't see a mature argument here. And I'm sick of this, so bye bye~!

Ha ha ha!

To be fair, maybe she had to really work to get there.

Also to be fair, a LOT of people think that they should be rewarded for the vague and unproductive notion that they are a good person. They should not. (Similar to, but not the same as, expecting reward for suffering and hardship. Also silly)

"I don't give a shit".

Maybe im making a mistake saying this is hateful, but in the last years in my country have occurred an increase of girls that state being biexual or pansexual, and people take it as a "trend".
